The photograph below is of the Real Ale bar.
The Londesborough Arms is an old coach house previously called "The Devonshire Arms"  which was built in the 1780's by the 5th Duke of Devonshire and used as the main coach house for the area.
For 150 years the building was privately owned by two families before being bought by The Hull Brewery Co. LTD in the 1960's.  The Duke of Devonshire is still referenced to in the building through the "Devonshire Bar" and in there on the fireplaces are the coiled serpants which were on his coat of arms.
Giant William Bradley is a local historical celebrity born in 1787 and when he was 20 he was 7ft 9inches tall and weighed 27 stone! He was known as "The Yorkshire Giant" nationally and is still one of the tallest men that was born in the UK to date. During his life it is rumoured that he was a frequent visitor to The Londesborough Arms and we have a chair that is said to be his in our meeting room otherwise known as "The Bradley Room".
We have 2 bars in The Londesborough Arms, the "Devonshire Bar" is a more mainstream bar which often has BTSPORTS on the 64" TV and a selection of lagers, bitters, ciders and spirits. Whilst bar number two is the "Real Ale Bar" with a more exclusive selection of spirits and 5 rotating real ales from Green King, Black Sheep and The Hop Studio (based at Elvington) as our main ale suppliers
